Join us for meditation and bedtime stories in the woods in this late night special! We will be paying attention to the nature around us by engaging our senses to the sights, sounds and smells and meditating throughout the session. Claire will then read everyone a bedtime story- she has a very soothing voice. Prepare to have a sound sleep when you get home. Bedtime stories for adults are becoming popular with the likes of Stephen Fry reading stories on the Calm app.
Mindfulness can help us to feel calm by being more in touch with the present moment experience. It takes us out of our busy heads and into our body.
No prior mindfulness experience needed. Please dress appropriately for the weather and your own comfort. We will be meditating (and dozing) in all conditions unless it is very stormy!
Meet at the Bowler Street Entrance to Highfield Country Park (10 mins BEFORE the event starts please)

The session is being led by Claire Morris an experienced Mindfulness and Nature Connection Teacher with over 10 years personal mindfulness experience and over a decade working in the environmental sector.
What past participants have said:
‘This lovely event reminded me of the benefits of mindfulness and showed me how to notice every aspect of nature around us, with our eyes, ears and nose, and even in touch the breeze on our face and the feel of the ground through our shoes. I would recommend this to anyone, even if you don’t think it’s your style. Claire makes it into a lovely experience for all. I’ll be back for more’.
Andrew Read, Participant
‘I got the chance to get up close and personal with a tree whilst blindfolded. Not as weird as it sounds, but the ‘find my tree’ exercise we partnered up to do was something I enjoyed immensely and getting to chat to a few people as we walked was wonderful too. If you’re new to meditation or just want to practice mindfulness, I can’t recommend Wild Awake Mindfulness enough’.
